Instructions:
1. Remove the Ears:
- Separate the skin of the ear just above the skull's base using a skinning knife.
- Once the skin is detached, use your hands or pliers to remove the cartilage at the ear base.
- Pull the skin off inside out, leaving the cartilage behind.
2. Fleshing:
- Start fleshing the ear cartilage using a fleshing knife.
- Scrape off any remaining skin, fat, and connective tissues.
- Be gentle to prevent damaging the cartilage.
3. Remove Inner Cartilage:
- Locate the inner cartilage of the ear.
- Using your hands, gently squeeze the inner cartilage out of the ear skin.
4. Remove Lip Skin:
- Carefully separate the skin from the lip using a skinning knife.
- Be cautious not to cut the lip itself.
5. Fleshing the Lips:
- Use a fleshing knife to remove any remaining skin, fat, and tissues.
- Pay attention to the corners and edges of the lip to ensure thorough cleaning.
6. Removal of Excess Fat:
- Take a wire brush and brush the lips and ears thoroughly to remove any remaining fat or tissue.
- Brushing helps to loosen and eliminate hard-to-reach bits.
7. Rinse:
- Once fleshed, rinse the ears and lips thoroughly with clean water to eliminate dirt and debris.
- Allow them to drip dry.
8. Tanning Preparation:
- After drying, the ears and lips are now ready for the tanning process.
