1. Wash the bedding in hot water: It's recommended that you wash all of your ferret's bedding in hot water (at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit) to kill fleas and their eggs.
2. Use a flea shampoo or powder: If you can't wash the bedding in hot water, you can also use a flea shampoo or powder specifically designed for ferrets. Be sure to follow the instructions on the product label.
3. Flea combs: Flea combs can be used to remove fleas and their eggs from your ferret’s bedding.
4. Vacuum your ferret's cage and bedding regularly: Vacuuming can help to remove any fleas or eggs that may be present. Be sure to empty the vacuum cleaner bag or canister immediately after use to prevent the fleas from escaping.
5. Use a flea trap: Flea traps can help catch and kill fleas that may be present in your ferret's cage or bedding.
6. Use diatomaceous earth: A fine dust made from the fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of algae. Fleas must come in contact with diatomaceous earth in order for the dust to be effective, so it should be sprinkled around the cage and bedding where you have seen fleas or suspect they may be hiding.
7. Use a chemical flea treatment: If you have a severe flea infestation, you may need to use a chemical flea treatment. Be sure to choose a product that is safe for ferrets and follow the instructions on the product label carefully.
