What happened to oswald the lucky rabbit?

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a cartoon character created in 1927 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Oswald starred in a series of animated short films, produced by Universal Pictures, until 1928. However, Universal owned the rights to Oswald, and when Disney refused to accept a pay cut, the studio took control of the character.

Disney went on to create Mickey Mouse, who quickly became more popular than Oswald. Meanwhile, Oswald's popularity declined, and the character eventually faded into obscurity.

In the 1990s, Disney regained the rights to Oswald, and the character has since made several appearances in Disney productions, including the video games Epic Mickey and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
