What colors are permitted in the rocky mountain horse breed?

The Rocky Mountain Horse breed is known for its distinctive solid color coats. They are only permitted to be one solid color, with no markings allowed.

Here are the accepted solid colors:

* Bay: Reddish brown body with black points (mane, tail, lower legs)

* Black: Completely black coat

* Brown: Dark brown body with brown points

* Buckskin: Golden body with black points

* Chestnut: Reddish brown body with reddish brown points

* Gray: Can range from light silver to almost black, with white hairs mixed in

* Palomino: Golden body with flaxen mane and tail (may have slight white markings)

Important Note: Though a Palomino can have slight white markings, they are not considered acceptable for registration by the Rocky Mountain Horse Association.
