Zebra Habitat
-
The seven subspecies of zebra all live on dense grasslands and forested savannas. Their diet of grasses and low-lying shrubbery is plentiful in these areas. Zebras prefer open spaces so they can watch for predators while they graze.
Zebra Survival Tactics
-
Zebras live in large herds that constantly survey for hyenas, leopards and lions. If a predator is spotted, the entire herd runs, making it difficult for a hunter to single out a specific zebra from the mass of mobile stripped animals. They can deliver a powerful kick or nasty bite when attacked.
A Widespread Habitat
-
These wild horses are commonly found all over the plains of Eastern Africa. A herd of zebras can contain over 1,000 animals. Every individual zebra has a unique pattern of stripes, comparable to a human's set of fingerprints.

A Zebra's Natural Habitat
