A top thoroughbred can not beat a cheetah in a 2 mile race. A thoroughbred can reach speeds of up to 40-45 mph, while a cheetah can reach speeds of up to 70-80 mph. Even with a handicap of 1.5 miles, the cheetah would still be far ahead of the top thoroughbred.
