Instructions
Fill the hay net with hay by opening the top and dropping the hay inside. Close the hay net by pulling the strings tight and tying a knot in the top.
Hang the hay net high enough keep it off of the floor and out of reach of your horse's legs. Hanging the net too high can cause hay and dust to get into your horse's eyes, but hanging too low can allow your horse to get its leg stuck in the net. Remember that once the hay is gone, the net will sag lower.
Loop the strings over a top rail in the stall or trailer. Use a horizontal bar rather than a vertical rail. The hay net can slide lower on a vertical rail as the horse pulls on the net.
Lace the end of the strings through the bottom of the net and pull tightly. Pull until the hay net is snug against the wall. This keeps the bottom of the net from sagging too far down, even after the net is empty.
Wrap the strings around a bar with a few loops to keep excess string from hanging down. Tie a knot in the string after winding it through the first loop. This keeps the strings out of the horse's way and keeps the hay net secured to the stall or trailer.
