What eats degus?

Degus are small rodents, and as such, they are prey animals. They are primarily eaten by predators that live in their natural habitat of Chile. These include:

* Birds of prey: Hawks, owls, and eagles are common predators.

* Mammals: Foxes, weasels, and other small mammals are also known to prey on degus.

* Reptiles: Snakes, such as the Chilean false coral snake, can also be a threat to degus.

It's important to note that degus are highly social animals that live in colonies and are often alert to danger. They also use a variety of defensive strategies, such as hiding in burrows or running quickly to escape predators.
