How to Make a Mash for Horses

Bran mash can be a warm and tasty treat for your horse. Bran mash can also act as a laxative and be helpful for horses that are prone to colic or have digestive problems. Mixing medication in mash is also a useful way to disguise the bad taste of bute and other distasteful medications. Fed in excess however, mash can cause calcium imbalances and be dangerous for the animal, so care should be taken when feeding.
