How to Feed Whole Soybeans to a Horse

Soybeans are high in fat and protein, so they are a good source of calories for horses. However, raw soybeans have an inhibitor that limits their protein value, according to Rutgers University's Equine Science Center. If you wish to feed whole soybeans to your horse, you must prepare them properly to inactivate the protein inhibitor. Soaking and boiling the soybeans makes them nutritious for the horse, and feeding the proper amounts helps your animal gain healthy weight.
