What does the desert elephant eat?

Desert elephants mainly feed on grasses, plants, fruits and barks from acacia trees, desert date Palms, mopane trees, sausage and ana trees, figs, melons and tubers when available throughout the day except the hottest hours around mid-day. Elephant bulls prefer eating underground stems like bulbs.
