What do tucanes eat?

Toucans are omnivorous tropical birds that primarily eat fruits, berries, insects, and small animals. Their diet mainly consists of fruits such as bananas, figs, papayas, mangos, and berries. Toucans also eat insects such as grasshoppers, crickets, ants, beetles, and caterpillars, as well as small animals like lizards, frogs, and small snakes. They also consume nectar and pollen from flowers, and occasionally consume carrion. Toucans typically forage in small groups and use their large, colorful bills to reach and pick their food from trees and bushes.
