Instructions

    • 1

Rub your horse each day using a rubber curry. Run the curry all along your horse's body, including the mane and tail. This improves the appearance of the coat and has health benefits, including better circulation and relaxed muscles.

    • 2

Bathe your horse sparingly. Water down shampoo first and only apply it to a very wet coat. Then, rinse the coat several times to remove all the shampoo. Any leftover can become caked on. Towel-dry the hair in its natural direction.

    • 3

Dilute face shine products in a little water before applying at a ratio of about three to one and spray a mist of it on the horse's face. Towel the area to remove excess product.

    • 4

Remove bagged tails once a week. Brush through them and braid it again to keep them looking their best. The length of the tail should come to the horse's ankles.

    • 5

Run clippers over the key areas of the halter horse, including around the ears and nose, under the chin, the hoof region, around the fetlock and the bridle path. Adjust the setting on the clippers as you work to ensure that the areas such as the bridle path remain longer than areas such as around the ears.
