Instructions
Select a location for your two-horse barn. The location should be on level ground to avoid the expense of excavation and large enough to accommodate a two-stall barn. Consider the noise level when selecting your location, as loud noises may agitate or frighten your horses.
Locate a company that sells small barn kits. Determine the size and design of barn you would like to build. Search for barn designs with at least two stalls to allow each horse to have its own space. Select a size that provides both horses enough room to turn around and lie down. Also, consider lighting and ventilation when making your selection. Purchase your selected barn kit and schedule the material to be delivered to the appropriate location.
Review the barn kit instructions and inventory all material to ensure you have received everything necessary to begin construction. Make sure you have all necessary equipment and tools to begin. Determine if you want a concrete floor or dirt floor in the barn, as concrete will require scheduling, delivery and pouring. Ask someone you know to assist you before beginning, as material can be very heavy.
Assemble your barn kit following all instructions step by step. Avoid skipping steps, as this could result in an incorrect assembly. Call someone for assistance if you come to a step that you do not understand or do not feel capable of doing, as mistakes with material can be very expensive. Once construction is complete, introduce your horses to their new home slowly to avoid agitation.
