Where does a round goby live?
The round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) is a small, bottom-dwelling fish native to the Black Sea and Caspian Sea basins. It has invaded numerous freshwater systems in Europe and North America, where it has become an environmental threat. Round gobies prefer shallow waters with sandy or gravelly substrates and are often found in rivers, streams, lakes, and coastal areas. They can also inhabit polluted and brackish waters.
