What is the habitat of a knysna seahorse?

Knysna seahorses are endemic to the coastal waters of South Africa, specifically in the vicinity of Knysna and the Eastern Cape. They can be found in various marine habitats, such as kelp forests, seagrass meadows, and rocky reefs. These habitats provide shelter and food sources for the seahorses, including small crustaceans and other zooplankton. Knysna seahorses prefer well-oxygenated waters and prefer depths ranging from shallow intertidal zones down to around 50 meters. They are relatively sedentary and tend to remain within their established territories.
