A nasal bulb is inserted into the horse's nostril and when the horse inhales, a metered dose of Albuterol travels to the horse's lungs. According to a test conducted by the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, 360 or 720 microg is a safe and effective dosage for horses.
