Instructions

    • 1

Clean the wound daily with clean, fresh water and a mild antibacterial soap.

    • 2

Apply a thick layer of lanolin-based ointment to the wound after cleaning. Lanolin allows moisture to be absorbed by the skin to promote healing and adheres to the wound. Additionally, it keeps the wound area soft and supple, preventing cracking.

    • 3

Clean the wound daily and re-apply the lanolin-based ointment at least once daily. Repeat as needed.

    • 4

Apply eyeliner matching the color of the horse's hair to cover up an old scar, which turns while when hair grows in. Eyeliner will hide the white scar for a day or two. Reapply eyeliner as needed.
