Electricity
-
Use the STS-2 Scanner hand-held device to find injuries on the horse. It can be used on other animals and people also. Utilize the electrical micro current emitted by the Scanner to determine what is causing discomfort and pain to the horse. This micro current is not harmful to the animal or the Scanner operator. The animal and operator do not feel the electrical current at all.
Detection
-
Detect the injury with the Scanner based on the resistance picked up by the electrical current. High resistance translates into healthy tissue. Low resistance means there is an injury or ailment in that area. Use the Scanner to detect injuries and ailments in tendons, ligaments, soft tissue, bones, and even the horse's organs. Run the Scanner over any area on the horse to detect low resistance. Narrow down the point of injury or ailment to a specific area. This is extremely helpful in determining what is wrong with the horse. Pinpoint the problem area to facilitate the treatment of the horse's injury or ailment. Make the veterinarian's job much quicker and easier by knowing exactly where the problem is.
Scan the horse's entire body. Listen for the sound alert the scanner makes. When low resistance is detected, the Scanner will emit a beep sound. The loudness of the beep sound indicates the severity of the ailment. A very loud shrill beep indicates a serious problem. Apply a green dot to each area where low resistance is found.
Results
-
Evaluate the findings after the scan is complete, taking all points of low resistance into consideration. An injury or ailment in one part of the horse often presents in another part of the horse. A problem in the back, shoulder or haunches can often seem to be a problem in a leg. Certain injuries can also cause problems in another part of the horse due to his change in movement in an attempt to compensate for the discomfort so that he can continue to move and work. Horses are instinctively flight animals as opposed to fight animals. Their first instinct in the face of danger is always to run. Because of this, a horse will attempt to stay mobile under any circumstances which causes them to compensate rather than stop moving.
