Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
Instructions
Locate the two screws on the sides of the pommel. Place one end of the measuring tape on one of the screws.
Stretch the measuring tape sideways across the saddle to the center of the cantle. The cantle is the lip at the back of the seat.
Determine the size of the seat by reading the measuring tape. The size should be somewhere between 16 and 18 inches, including half sizes. Some saddles may be larger or smaller, but those are not considered standard sizes.
