Silver-decorated saddles have helped identify famous film stars from the Lone Ranger and Silver to Roy Rogers and Trigger. The application of spots can turn a pleasure saddle into a parade or show saddle for a fraction of the cost of a new saddle. Design, measurement and spot location are vital keys to a professional look when turning a plain saddle into a show saddle. The type and size of the spots will determine the type of set used to secure each spot to the design.

Instructions
1
Measure the area of the saddle with the ruler where spots are to be attached and mark with a felt-tip pen to create equal spacing between each spot. This will ensure a uniform finished look when the project is completed.
2
Center the spot over the mark on the saddle.
3
Hammer the spot into place using the mallet, seating the spot into the leather. Repeat the spot placement according to the marked pattern.
