Things You'll Need
- Polyurethane caulk
- Caulk gun
- Flashlight
- Garden hose
Instructions
Caulk the seams of the trailer roof from the inside. Each place there is a seam that has been riveted or welded together is a place where water could eventually leak in. Apply a generous bead of caulk around each of these roof seams and smooth it out with your finger, providing full coverage over the entire seam.
Caulk the inside and outside frames of the windows. Inspect each window to make sure that you have covered every corner and seam with a bead of caulk.
Test the trailer for water resistance. After the caulk has been left to dry overnight, spray water on the roof of the trailer and the over the closed windows. Walk inside the trailer with a flashlight, inspecting each seam and window to make sure that no water penetrated the trailer. If you find any small leaks, repeat the process.
