Determine your budget. New horse trailers with living quarters vary in price from around $20,000 to upward of $300,000, while used horse trailers with living quarters start out at around $10,000. These prices are as of December 2010.
Decide whether you want a slant load, a straight load or a combo trailer. All three can be found both new and used in most price ranges.
Call your local horse trailer dealership and arrange a time to look at different trailer models. This will give you an idea of what type of living compartments are available.
Search online for used trailers with living quarters in your area and arrange for a time to look at them. Make sure that besides fitting the criteria you have set out, they have also been properly maintained.
Purchase your horse trailer, either from a dealership or from a private seller. Financing is often available from dealerships on both new and used trailers, while financing is most likely not available from a private seller.
