How to Adjust Your Fender for the E-Z Up Stirrup

Riders who frequently ride taller horses often use a stirrup extender like the E-Z Up Leg Extender to help mount their horses, while saving wear and tear on their knees and backs, especially during long rides. This is also useful for elderly and overweight riders. The E-Z Up also lets riders maintain a more natural riding position. Once you've installed the E-Z Up you can adjust it to your height. Before you begin, however, familiarize yourself with the installation instructions to guide you through the process.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure how far down your stirrup normally extends using a tape measure.

    • 2

Locate the stirrup adjustment clip on the back of the saddle's fender and unbuckle the clip to remove the stirrup. Then, use the stirrup clip to attach the stirrup to the E-Z Up.

    • 3

Place the E-Z Up into the fender, and once again secure the adjustment clip.

    • 4

Press the button on the E-Z Up to lower the stirrup 3 inches, allowing you to easily mount the horse. Keep in mind that the E-Z Up will not extend more than 3 inches. Once you slide your toe into the stirrup it will return to its original position. If it doesn't return to its original position, you may have to adjust the buckle under the stirrup, until the stirrup is at its usual position.
