Function
-
A treeless saddle is very light, usually about 10 to 12 pounds, and adjusts to the horse's back. The pommel, or front, of the saddle moves with the horse, so there is no pressure on the withers. There also is no pressure under the cantle, or rear, of the saddle. Because it conforms to the shape of the horse's back, a treeless saddle is stable, even on the most hard-to-fit horse.

How Do I Learn About Treeless Saddles?
Treeless saddles have become popular because they are flexible and move with the horse's body unlike saddles with rigid trees. The horse's movement can be more relaxed and free, because nothing is constricting his back and shoulders.
