Making Horse Hair Bridles
Divide the horse tail hair into thick sections that can be used for braiding.
Cut these sections to a length determined by the size of the horse for which you are making the bridle. For a typical full-size horse, 43 inches is common.
Attach one end of the horse hair to the bit with a secure knot.
Braid the horse hair from this point. Once the braid reaches the end of the length of hair, securely tie the hair to the other end of the bit.
Use a thin leather strip to bind the knots that hold the horse hair to the bit. This will secure the knot and ensure that it does not come loose.
