Instructions
Remove the bit from the bridle using a screwdriver. Be sure to place the screws back in the bridle and fasten them so they don't get lost.
Place the bit in your dishwasher if you have one. Using the dishwasher is the simplest and fastest way to remove built-up dirt from stainless steel bits. If you don't have access to a dishwasher, fill a bowl with water and add enough dishwashing liquid to make a good foam. Allow the stainless steel bit to soak in the soapy solution for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how soiled it is.
Wipe the dirt off the bit with a clean cloth and use an old toothbrush to get into the crevices. Clean the bit until you've removed all of the dirt, grass and debris.
Dry the stainless steel bit thoroughly using a clean cloth, then reattach the bit to the bridle. Make sure the screws that hold the bit in place are tightened securely.
