Things You'll Need
- Ribbon
- Browband
- Hot glue
Instructions
Select ribbon that is 5 mm to 7 mm wide. The ribbons should be approximately 6 feet long. Choose any two colors you would like. Choose a thinner ribbon for a smaller horse or pony, and a thicker ribbon for a larger horse.
Tie the two ribbons together in a knot, leaving approximately a 2-inch tail at the end of the knot. Separate the ribbons and insert the browband between the two ribbons. The ribbons should resemble the letter V with the browband resting at the bottom of the V.
Bring the ribbon in the back of the browband up over the browband, pull down and forward, under the front ribbon. Make sure the ribbons cross over one another at the front of the browband.
Bring the second ribbon up over the browband and pull down, under the front ribbon. Continue this pattern along the entirety of the browband. Be mindful of the tension of the ribbon. Too much tension can cause the ribbon to become stretched and distorted, while too little tension can create unsightly bubbles and imperfections in the browband.
Finish the browband with a matching knot on the other side. Secure with hot glue, and then cut off the excess ribbon if desired.
