Things You'll Need
- Saddle stand
- 2-inch wide rubber inner tube straps
Instructions
Set your saddle on a saddle stand, and buckle the cinch tightly around the stand. The tighter you buckle the cinch, the less likely the saddle is to shift while you wrap the saddle horn.
Lay the first rubber inner tube strap over the base of the saddle horn. Stand at the front of the saddle, and pull the tube toward you with both hands. Stretch the tube as tight as you can, and twist it once before looping back over the saddle horn.
Keep the strap tight as you step back toward the seat, and twist the tube again to wrap the entire base of the saddle horn. Keep the rubber as flat as possible to prevent uneven lumps as you continue wrapping.
Move back to the front of the saddle and pull the tube forward, twisting it again to continue weaving the rubber around the horn. Repeat the pulling and twisting until the tube is too short to wrap over the horn.
Place a second strip over the horn, and start your wrapping just above the end of the first tube. Wrap the rubber back and forth over the horn as directed in Steps 3-5, adding additional straps as necessary to cover the entire saddle horn.
