Instructions

    • 1

Make the box for the wagon. Cut a plank of wood 2-by-3 feet. This is the bottom of your box. Cut two pieces of wood 1-by-2 feet for the front and back of the wagon. Cut two pieces of wood 1-by-3 feet for the sides of the wagon. Assemble these pieces, nailing them together. Once the box has been assembled, add brackets to the interior corners of the box to give it added strength. Use screws to secure the brackets.

    • 2

Turn the box over. Screw the axle into the bottom of the wagon. Make sure the axle is centered to keep the wagon from tipping. The wheels attach to the axle.

    • 3

Use bolts to attach the poles to the front of the wagon.; The poles should run parallel to the ground when the wagon is in use. Attach the metal rings to the poles. How many you need depends on the type of harness you purchased, but two on either side is usually sufficient. When hitched to the harness, the poles should come to about the horse's stomach.

    • 4

Cover all wood with the enamel. This will protect the wood from the elements and extend the life of your wagon. Allow the enamel to thoroughly dry according to the manufacturer's directions. This will usually take several hours.

    • 5

Put the harness on your miniature horse and back the horse in between the poles as the wagon is at rest. Lift the poles into place and secure the harness to the rings. Your miniature horse wagon is now ready for use.
