Select a spot to stack your hay that is well ventilated and gets direct sunlight. Choose an area of higher ground to prevent moisture from collecting under the hay. Lay enough tarps on the ground to cover the entire area where the hay will be stacked.

Stack the hay bales in a pyramid shape on the tarps. This allows for any moisture to drain properly and for maximum air circulation. Fold the edges of the tarp on the ground up along the sides of the hay pyramid. Secure the tarp tightly with the bungee cords or straps.

Lay tarps over the top of the hay pyramid so that all the hay is adequately covered. Tightly secure the tarps against the hay with the bungee cords or straps. When you are finished, there should be no hay exposed to the elements.
