Instructions

    • 1

Measure your horse from his withers to his loin. Write down this measurement and keep it handy.

    • 2

Fold your wool blanket in half for added thickness. Mark the measurements you took from your horse on the half blanket.

    • 3

Using heavy shears, cut the blanket along your measured lines. Take great care to cut straight lines. Use a straightedge if needed.

    • 4

Place the freshly cut piece of saddle pad on your horse's back and make sure it fits well from withers to loin.

    • 5

Using a heavy-duty sewing machine or a carpet needle with industrial-strength thread, triple-stitch the edges of your blanket together. You now have a fully functional and durable saddle pad.
