Gather your tools and materials.
- John Deere X300 tractor
- Snow blade attachment (model 4410 or 4420)
- 5/16-inch wrench
- 1/2-inch wrench
- 3/4-inch wrench
- Safety glasses
Prepare the snow blade.
1. Remove the two bolts that hold the blade to the pallet using the 5/16-inch wrench.
2. Remove the blade from the pallet.
3. Install the two skid shoes by inserting the bolts through the holes on the front side of the blade and then securing the bolts with nuts on the back side using the 1/2-inch wrench.
Install the snow blade to the tractor.
1. Raise the mower deck to its highest position.
2. Align the snow blade with the tractor's mounting bracket.
3. Insert the two bolts through the holes on the back side of the snow blade and then securing the bolts with nuts using the 5/16-inch wrench.
Connect the hydraulic lines.
- If your tractor is equipped with a hydraulic lift, connect the two hydraulic lines from the snow blade to the tractor's hydraulic ports using the 3/4-inch wrench.
Test the snow blade.
1. Lower the mower deck.
2. Start the tractor and engage the hydraulic lift.
3. Raise and lower the snow blade to make sure that it is working properly.
Note: For safety reasons, it is important to read the instructions before installing the snow blade or the tractor. Some models can only be used with specific tractors, and not with any other. Also, be sure to disconnect the battery's negative cable whenever the tractor's electrical system is serviced or repaired.
