What predators do shetland ponies have?

Shetland ponies, being relatively small and living in the northernmost parts of the UK, have a few natural predators. These include:

* Foxes: They are opportunistic predators and can pose a threat to foals or weaker ponies.

* Badgers: They are omnivores, but have been known to prey on young or weak ponies.

* Dogs: While not technically a "natural" predator, feral or unleashed dogs can be dangerous to ponies, especially if they are aggressive.

* Birds of Prey: Larger birds of prey, such as Golden Eagles, can pose a threat to foals.

It's worth noting that wolves were historically present in Scotland, but have been extinct for centuries. Bears are also not native to the Shetland Islands, so they aren't a concern.

Shetland ponies are generally quite hardy and have evolved to be able to defend themselves against predators. They have a strong herd instinct and will work together to protect themselves and their young. They are also known for being feisty and quick to kick.
