Why are there more horses than asses?

It's actually the opposite! There are significantly more donkeys (asses) than horses in the world. Here's why:

* Adaptation and Utility: Donkeys are much more adaptable to harsh environments and are more efficient at converting low-quality food into energy. They are also known for their hardiness and resilience. This makes them valuable for work and transportation, particularly in developing countries.

* Breeding Practices: Donkeys are often used for breeding with horses to create mules, which are known for their strength and stamina. This practice further increases the donkey population.

* Conservation Efforts: Many countries have recognized the importance of preserving donkey populations due to their economic and ecological value. This includes initiatives to protect them from overexploitation and poaching.

While horses are certainly popular and well-loved, their numbers are dwarfed by the sheer global population of donkeys.
