Things You'll Need
- Leather cleaner/oil
- New bullwhip fall
- Old bullwhip
- Utility knife
- Awl or straight-slot screwdriver
Instructions
Rub leather cleaner or oil on to the new fall whip.
Push the old fall of the bullwhip through the hole in the new bullwhip fall. Slide the fall all the way up the thong of the bullwhip.
Slide the awl or the flat-edge screwdriver into the loop of the old bullwhip to separate the thong and the fall of the whip. Slide the awl or the flat-edge screwdriver so that the strip of the whip sits in the middle of the flat piece of the tool because you are going to use the tool as a "cutting board."
Clip the loop of the old bullwhip fall so that it cuts the loop in half or cuts it open so that it no longer creates a loop.
Pull the old bullwhip fall out by grabbing the end of the old bullwhip and gently tugging it away from the keeper area of the bullwhip, which is the part that attaches the fall to the handle of the whip.
Push the new bullwhip tip into the keeper of the bullwhip. You may need to cut the tip of the new bullwhip fall into a point to make it easier to slide into the keeper. You may also need to use the awl or flat-edge screwdriver to make the hole a little larger so you can push the new fall in. Once you get the tip of the new bullwhip fall through the hole, pull the fall the rest of the way through from the other side of the fall tip. Cut the point of the fall tip so that it is no longer a point.
