Instructions
Hitching Up the Trailer
Perform a safety check to ensure the trailer is suitable to tow up to three horses. Examine the trailer floor, tire pressure, locking mechanisms and electrical wires to ensure they are functioning within their expected capacity.
Shift the towing vehicle in reverse and slowly back up until the hitch is lined up with the ball on the trailer.
Shift the vehicle into park and put the emergency brake on. Using the crank shaft on the trailer, lower the trailer until it is securely coupled to the tow vehicle.
Cross the safety chains over each other in the shape of an X. Clip them onto the tow vehicle for added security.
Plug in the electrical wiring to the tow vehicle. Tap the brakes and activate the truck's turn signals to test the wiring.
Loading the Horses
Open all of the doors on the trailer to allow more light, which will reassure the horse during the loading process.
Stand on the left-hand side of the horse. Lead the him into the trailer and fasten his halter to the wall with a trailer tie. When loading multiple horses, lead each horse to the stall furthest from the trailer entrance.
Latch the aluminum divider to secure the horse.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each horse until the trailer is loaded.
Close the trailer doors firmly to prevent them from opening during transport.
