How did horses get to Africa?

The genus Equus is believed to have originated in North America, and the first horses appeared in Africa around 5 million years ago. These early horses were small, about the size of a modern pony, and they had three toes on each foot. Over time, horses evolved to become larger and more powerful, and they eventually spread to other parts of the world.

The first horses to be introduced to Africa by humans were brought by the Arabs in the 7th century AD. These horses were used for transportation and warfare, and they quickly became an important part of African culture. In the centuries that followed, horses were introduced to other parts of Africa by European colonists and traders.

Today, horses are found all over Africa, and they are used for a variety of purposes, including transportation, agriculture, and recreation.
