Instructions
Split the reins by unbuckling or unknotting the reins. Locate the D-ring on both sides of the front of the saddle.
Slide the each rein through the D-ring. Knot or buckle the reins.
It cannot be too tight or too loose; too-tight reins can cause the horse to flip and too-long reins can get entangled when a horse acts up.
How to Attach the Reins to the Saddle When Lunging
When you saddle up your horse before lunging the horse, you have a few options for the reins. Lunging with reins is dangerous for the horse as the horse can get a leg tangled. Always make sure the reins are securely fastened. If you do not need the bridle on for training while lunging, then omit it. If you must have the reins on, secure them out of the way.
