Instructions
Begin training your young Andalusian as soon as the horse is old enough for you to ride safely. But have the horse check by a vet before riding for the first time to confirm its general good health.
Work slowly. What you wish to train the horse will depend on how you plan to use the horse, but split the training moves into sections. Andalusians respond better to learning a small amount, perfecting it and moving on to the next part than to being given a lot to learn.
Use a rewards system. Most Andalusians respond well if offered a reward for successfully completing a move. You'll find this is an effective way to train your horse to do something it is not keen on doing, such as riding through water for the first time, or trying a new jump.
Change the routine. Andalusians thrive off successfully completing courses. While you may need to repeat the same moves and jumps to perfect them, try facing them in different orders to keep things interesting.
How to Train the Young Andalusian Horse
Andalusian horses are large, powerful and intelligent animals. They are used both for riding and driving. Due to their size and strength, training Andalusian horses can be difficult, so it's essential that you to begin training your horse when it is young. Young Andalusians are of course smaller but also less stubborn, which makes them easier to command and train.
