Students may take courses to earn an accredited Associate's Degree, to be certified as an equine specialist or to earn dual high school credit. The Academy offers online classes in equine business and management, along with training courses that demonstrate a horseback-riding lesson. Students videotape themselves riding, and Internet-based teachers critque and comment on the tapes.

According to EquineDegreeOnline.com, Breyer State University allows a student the opportunity to work towards an equine degree online. The school has no time limits on the program, which offers instruction provided by 15 equine professionals.

Although not strictly an equine school, UniversalClass.com offers four equine-related courses students can take online: Equine Business Management, Color Genetics, Trick Horse Training and Advanced Trick Horse Training. No degree is offered as of 2010, although certificates are available once each course is completed.
