- Chlorine
Instructions
Unplug all the electrical devices attached to the tank including the filter, aeration, lights and water heater.
Take off the hood of the tank. Clean it by wiping with water and paper towels.
Scoop water from the aquarium until you have sufficiently filled the bucket. This will hold your fish temporarily. Slowly pour or scoop your fish from the tank into the bucket.
Remove all of the decorations in the tank including rocks, plants and fake structures. Slowly pour out the remaining water into a drain.
Rinse the tank out once and let it dry. Clean the gravel with the siphon and remove any other dirt built up in the tank.
Refill the tank with cool tap water that is an appropriate temperature for your fish. Add in fish chlorine to reduce harmful chemicals found in the water. Return all of the decorations and appliances to their original locations.
Pour your fish from the bucket back into the tank and enjoy.
