Hiding Your Aquarium Heater

Maintaining an attractive home aquarium is not only therapeutic but a hobby that allows you to beautify your surroundings. However, when it comes to properly caring for your fish, the use of submersible aquarium heaters tends to depreciate the flawless natural appearance of your underwater environment. Knowing how to conceal your aquarium heater gives you the ability to show off your fish and their habitat without showing off the cords and tube of the heater; especially if it's one of large wattage.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the suction cups to the backside of the heater stone, in the appropriate nubs. These heater stones come in a wide array of sizes and are designed to hold the submersible tank heaters to conceal them. Choose one that fits your tank heater's wattage.

    • 2

Slide the tank heater into the heater stone, aiming the bottom end downward through the top of the stone.

    • 3

Adhere the suction cups of the heater stone to the inside wall of one of the far corners of your aquarium. If you're using an overhanging filtration system, place the heater in the far back corner near the filter. The filter helps conceal it this way.

    • 4

Arrange your choice of aquatic plants around the floor of the tank near the heater. Don't worry, the heater is submersible and totally meant to be in close contact with items, so they will not burn.

    • 5

Add a fish hiding formation on the floor of the tank near the plants. A rock cave or novelty sunken pirate treasure is adequate.
