Instructions for the CO2 Regulator Deluxe

A large aquarium can not only hold fish, but can also be home to underwater plants. For plants to survive in your aquarium, you must have the proper equipment, including a C02 regulator to provide them with the proper gases. A C02 regulator will pump carbon dioxide into the water for the plants, but it is important to get the right mixture to prevent causing damage to the fish inside.

Connect the hose running from your aquarium to the outgoing valve on the pressure gauge by threading the end into the opening and tightening it with your hand or wrench. Connect the hose from the CO2 tank to the incoming valve on the pressure gauge and tighten it in the same fashion.

    • 2

Screw the black knob into the regulator at the top of the tank just far enough so it is in place. Screwing it too far could cause the tank to open and the CO2 to leak out. Turn the needle valve counterclockwise to open it slightly and plug in the cord for the solenoid valve into an open wall outlet.

    • 3

Put on the protective eyewear and face away from the tank and the gauges. Turn the cylinder valve to the left to open it slowly. Do not open it all the way, turn the valve about one-half to one full turn until the gauge reads 800 PSI.

    • 4

Grasp the black knob at the top of the tank and turn it to the right to lower the pressure coming from the CO2 tank. Continue to turn it until the pressure gauge reads between 15 PSI and 20 PSI. This is the optimum PSI for your tank. If you wish to increase or decrease the amount of bubbles coming from the tube in the aquarium, turn the precision needle valve to the left or right.
