How to Split Water & Land in a Fish Tank

Often aquarium owners look to their fish tanks as a sense of inspiration to create terrariums - half land half water habitats. With terrariums being a prime choice for popular amphibians such as turtles and frogs, aquarium owners are making the switch to terrariums.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the interior of your aquarium from the size of the height and width with your ruler and record your dimensions.

    • 2

Place your plexi glass sheet on a flat surface and set your width and half of your height on the plexi sheet using your marker. Your ending shape should be a rectangle that neatly fits into your tank separating your two tank halves and reaches about halfway up your tank's height.

    • 3

Place your measured plexi glass rectangle where you would like to divide your tank. While clamping down on and pushing your sheet, apply your rubber cement on the seals of your sheet and hold for ten minutes to create an air-tight barrier.

    • 4

Place your moss and pebbles throughout the aquarium to hide and make your plexi glass wall look like a natural beach from land to water.
