How to Fix a Crack on the Outside of an Aquarium

      Go to your local pet store and ask for 100% silicone sealant with zero additives.

      Purchase a large tube of the sealant and as a standard-sized caulking gun.

      Empty your aquarium and transfer any fish to a temporary tank.

      Completely dry off the area to be repaired.

      Starting from the top of the crack, lay down a small bead of sealant and drag it along the crack as smoothly as possible.

      With a wet finger, gently pat down the sealant so it lays smoothly and has no bumps. Allow the silicone sealant to dry for one day before refilling the aquarium.
