How to Capture a Mantis Shrimp

Bruce Lee has one of the most feared kicks in all of history. In the animal kingdom, the mantis shrimp has the fastest kick of all animals. Mantis shrimp kick at a speed of 75 feet per second. Their front claws can cut into your fingers. They grow approximately 10 to 12 inches long. They are found all over the world. Their bodies resemble a mix of a praying mantis and shrimp, but they actually are not shrimp.

Instructions

    • 1

    • 2

Place a piece of shrimp inside the plastic bottle. The shrimp is used as bait for the mantis shrimp.

    • 3

Invert the plastic bottle with the opening facing the gravel of the tank. Place the opening 2 inches into the gravel. The shrimp remains inside the bottle.
