How to Replace the Temperature Probe in an Aqua Logic Controller

Aqua Logic controllers are supplies used for aquatic life-support systems. These models can be found everywhere from high-end aquariums and fish rooms to public aquariums. These devices control the flow of water from chiller units, designed to help maintain the temperature of temperate organisms. The most common issue with these units is the failure of the temperature probe, which is easy to replace.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the unit's power supply before working on its electronics to avoid electrocution and/or damaging the unit.

    • 2

Open the unit. To do this, unscrew the three mounting screws for the top cover, then remove the cover.

    • 3

Remove the old temperature probe. It will be connected by two snap-in leads. They can be tugged out of their sockets.

    • 4

Snap in the new temperature probe. There will be two leads that easily snap into their sockets. No solder is required. As part of the user-friendly design, it does not matter which lead goes into which socket.

    • 5

Run the wires over the top of the top side of the switch. This will keep them from interfering with the switch.

    • 6

Place the top cover back on the unit and screw in place.
