Aquaclear 70 Specifications

The Aquaclear 70 is a fish aquarium filtration system. It reintroduces filtered water to the tank using a small, silent waterfall. The product includes a three-stage filtration process with mechanical, chemical and biological filters to give your fish the cleanest water possible. The mechanical filter absorbs debris, a chemical carbon filter absorbs impurities, and the biological filter maintains the proper level of beneficial bacteria in your tank.
  1. Rates and Capacities

    • The maximum flow through the Aquaclear 70 is 300 gallons per hour. You can adjust the flow as low as 100 gallons per hour. The filter's motor spins at 3,600 rotations per minute. Aquaclear recommends its model 70 for tanks up to 70 gallons, but also for aquariums as small as 30 gallons.

    Power and Flow

    • The Aquaclear 70 demands 6 watts of power. Aquaclear recommends setting the filter's flow rate to its lowest setting during feeding so that food disperses more evenly and less is wasted by quickly becoming trapped by the filter. Also, reducing the flow rate causes the Aquaclear 70 to process up to half of the water in the filter multiple times, leading to an even cleaner, healthier tank for more delicate and sensitive fish species.

    Physical Dimensions

    • The Aquaclear 70 is 8 inches tall and 6 inches deep. Its length along the tank measures 8 1/2 inches. A leveling device snaps to the bottom of the filter to keep the device properly upright, which ensures optimal performance.
