Things You'll Need
- Gravel
- Power strip
Instructions
Place the Aqua-Tech 29 on a sturdy aquarium stand. Your Aqua-Tech 29 tank will weigh about 290 pounds after you add water, fish and gravel.
Lay down a layer of gravel between 2 and 3 inches deep. Cover the entire bottom surface of the tank evenly.
Attach the Aqua-Tech power filter to the back of the aquarium. The intake tube of the power filter should hang inside the tank, while the hopper where you add the water should remain outside the tank.
Insert a filter cartridge into the power filter. Push the filter until it stops. Do not plug in the power filter until the aquarium is filled with water.
Place a large shallow bowl in the middle of the aquarium and pour water into that bowl. Filling the tank by pouring water into the bowl prevents the gravel from being disturbed as the tank fills. Fill the aquarium nearly to the top.
Fill the hopper in the back of the power filter with water. Continue pouring water into the hopper until water starts spilling over into the tank. Plug the power filter in to the power strip.
Add the water conditioner to the water and follow the instructions on the packet. The water conditioner will remove any chlorine and other contaminants from the water and make it safe for your fish.
Place the light hood from the Aqua-Tech 29 kit on top of the aquarium. Plug the light hood into the power strip and turn the light on.
